Presenting the „WorkLife 4U“ Project

HRT, Regionalni dnevnik, 19. listopada 2020

Throughout Croatia, the project “WorkLife 4U” was presented to reduce the impact of stereotypes of traditional roles of both men and women and easier reconciliation of family and business obligations. The project is co-financed by the European Union program, organised by the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, the Croatian Association of Counties and the company Spona Code.

– In our society, there is a hidden problem that employers do not want to hire women because they will go on maternity leave, and even sick leave. From our data, we can see that with the introduction of flexible arrangements, the sick leave rate for women is reduced by 11%, says Dijana Kobas Dešković, author of the MAMFORCE method.

– It is time to change the paradigm because we want to change the thinking and attitude “either work or family” to the paradigm “both work and family”, said Majda Burić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Affairs policy.
